I've visited numerous Amish communities and have studied them for years. They aren't an ideal society. And yes, crimes and atrocities occur in Amish lives. But inside these seemingly bland households are people of great peace and enormous strength. Read about them here. Share your own positive lessons from the Amish. Discuss Amish books and their accurate/inaccurate portrayal of this society. Learn about some of the differences between Old Order/New Order Amish and Mennonites. I especially invite anyone with actual Amish or Mennonite ties to share their positive experiences. I invite questions. Hopefully between my research and input from others, they can be answered! This isn't a forum for negativity toward the Amish. Rudeness and comments in bad taste won't be allowed. Amish jokes are not a consideration. The aim of this group is to define the positive aspects of the Amish communities, and perhaps put some of them to work in our own lives. Group Tags
